Britain Looking to be Electric Car Producing Capital of Europe

Nissan have announced plans to build a new factory in Sunderland dedicated to the production of batteries for electric cars. Up to 350 new jobs should be created.
In addition Nissan is looking to build a new plant in 2012 for the production of electric cars which will be situated nearby.
Toyota have also announced plans to start building their hybrid Auris at their manufacturing plant in Derbyshire next year.
More potential good news could come from Vauxhall who are waiting for the go ahead to start building their new Ampera saloon at their Ellesmere Port plant in Mersyside.
