Do your bit
The effects of climate change are continuously emerging. The most recent news is that conkers have started to appear on trees already. This is two weeks earlier than usual.
So how can we help stop the effects of climate change? Well there are hundreds of small changes you can make and here are just a few of them:
• Energy saving light bulbs can cut the cost of your electricity bill. They last ten times longer and use up to four times less energy.
• Don’t leave electrical appliances on standby. Leaving your television or sound system on standby means that they are still using up electricity so switch the appliance off at the mains.
• Take a shower instead of a bath as this could save you 400 litres a week.
• Don’t overfill the kettle when making hot drinks – only use what you will need.
• Only use your washing machine or dishwasher when you have a full load. Otherwise, you will waste both water and energy.
