Michael Jackson’s Coffin

Michael Jackson was widely thought of as an eco warrior but his recent memorial and funeral was far from kind to the planet.
His ostentatious, £15,000 coffin was made from 14K gold plated bronze. It was the same coffin that was used for James Brown. This is a coffin that’s built to last and not one that is going to biodegrade any time in the next few thousand years.
When you add to this the huge carbon footprint of thousands of people that either drove or flew in for the event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles you can see that either he or his family really had little regard for the future of this planet.
